Your first triathlon is an adventure. Start with a short event for your age and ask a grown-up to help you read the course map. Knowing where to swim, bike and run makes the day feel friendlier.
Practise each sport at an easy pace. Then try setting out your helmet, shoes and towel in the order you will use them. A little practice makes the change between sports much simpler.
Pack the night before, eat a familiar breakfast and arrive with time to spare. Thank the helpers, cheer for other kids and remember: crossing the finish line is something to celebrate.
